Judy Kong

Judy Kong recreate an emotional scenes triggered during living abroad — a night returning home, where faint murmurs and soft lights emanate from a neighbor's house. Judy perceives unfamiliar sounds and images in familiar surroundings, evoking her desire to peek into local life as an outsider. Across different upbringings, languages, and cultures, there exists a gap in understanding between the people from different culture, bringing Judy to explore her belonging. Through abstraction of sound, objects, light, and space, she depict feelings of alienation, as well as the a sense of loss from cultural boundaries that she is trying to overcome between one another.
