Lostalgia (2025)
Video, sound, wool and clay sculpture, cement

“Lostalgia” can be read as Lost and Nostalgia – an inseparable emotional condition shaped by the experience of migration. Drought, zebras, flames, and bones are symbols, weaving a spatial narrative of mourning for a fading homeland, and of the possibility of rebirth in the loss.

The work unfolds through a fragmented narrative of zebra migration, interweaving video, material, sound, space, and text to create a commemorative space of nostalgia, memory, and migration. It lingers between remembrance and preservation, attempting to respond to the inevitable longing and fading memory that accompany migration.

I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Lands of the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to Elders past and present and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land
